PRINCIPLES OF PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING – ChemTechNext

Introduction

Unipetrol výzkumně vzdělávací centrum, a.s., registered office at Revoluční 1521/84, 400 01 Ústí nad Labem, Company ID No. 62243136 (hereinafter the “Controller”) is the controller of the personal data you have provided, in the meaning of Regulation (EU) No. 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (hereinafter “GDPR”) and Act No. 110/2019 Coll., on personal data processing, as amended, and has implemented, maintains and regularly updates measures aimed to ensure the maximum protection of processed personal data. These measures include the following principles of personal data processing, which summarise basic information about how the Controller processes personal data within its activity, for what period of time, for what purpose and who it shares them with.

Purposes of processing personal data

Registration of participants at the conference

The purpose of personal data processing is to register participants at the “ChemTechNext” conference via the registration form on the website https://chemtechnext.cz/ or by sending an electronic message to chemtechnext@unicre.cz, and related activities such as the conducting and evaluation of the conference. The legal grounds for processing is Art. 6(1)(b), GDPR, i.e. processing required to fulfil the contract, that being participation at the conference, or to implement measures adopted before concluding the contract at the request of the data subject, i.e. acceptance and entry of your registration for the conference.

Sending information messages

Based on the participant’s registration for the conference, the Controller may contact them with an offer of similar events, inform them about ongoing events or otherwise contact them via the e-mail address provided during registration, based on the Controller’s legitimate interest in developing its activity in accordance with Section 7(3) of Act No. 480/2004 Coll., on certain information society services. If the participant does not wish to receive such electronic messages, they may unsubscribe via every sent electronic message, or contact the Controller via other means.

Categories of processed personal data and their storage period

To fulfil the aforementioned purposes, personal data are processed in the scope of:

Identification data (name, surname)

Contact data (telephone number, e-mail address)

Data about the business or dispatching institution

Additional data (photograph, video recording)

The provision of personal data is an essential requirement for registration for the conference. Without providing personal data, it is not possible to attend the conference or for the Controller to conduct it. The personal data which are processed are generally obtained by the Controller directly from the participant or within the organisation of the respective conference (e.g. photographs).

The Controller processes personal data only for the period of time necessary to achieve the given purpose, or for the period stipulated by applicable legal regulations. Within the participant’s registration for the conference, personal data are stored for a period of 2 years after the conclusion of the conference. This period is stipulated with respect to the regularity of the conference every year and the evaluation of projects, which is conducted also retroactively. After the passing of the storage period, the Controller deletes the personal data.

The sending of information messages is not limited by time, unless the participant expresses their desire to unsubscribe from the sending of such messages.

Transfer of personal data

The Controller is authorised to hand over the participant’s personal data in the scope required to conduct and evaluate the conference and fulfil other obligations. The Controller also hands over the personal data to parties providing services related to the operation and administration of the website https://chemtechnext.cz/, and potential other suppliers of technologies and providers of marketing services.

The also Controller hands over personal data when fulfilling legal obligations (e.g. at the request of the Czech Police) or when defending its rights.

Personal data are always handed over to third parties in compliance with the respective legal regulations, whilst observing the highest standard of personal data protection, which requires the due preservation of data subjects’ rights and protection of their privacy.

The Controller does not provide the participant’s personal data outside of the EU, the EEA or to international organisations.

Your rights

You have the following rights in connection to personal data processing:

– Right of access personal data;

– Right to rectification;

– Right to erasure;

– Right to restrict of processing;

– Right to object;

– Right to data portability;

– Right to not be the subject of automated decision-making including profiling (the Controller does not use automated decision-making including profiling);

– Right to withdraw consent to personal data processing;

– Right to file a complaint to the supervisory authority, that being the Office for Personal Data Protection.

Taking of photographs and video recordings during the conference

The Controller will take photographs and video recordings during the conference, depicting happenings at the event venue and the attending participants. If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please inform the photographer or cameraman.

The conference may also be reasonably reported on in the media or as part of the Controller’s promotion.

By sending registration for the conference, you confirm that you have become familiar with the principles of personal data processing and accept and agree to them in full scope.
